Phillip Carr Killed in Jacksboro Two-Vehicle Crash at State Highway 199 and Farm to Market 2210

Jacksboro, Texas (September 3, 2023) – A man was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash approximately 20 miles south of Jacksboro, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 9:38 a.m., September 2, at the intersection of State Highway 199 and Farm to Market 2210.

DPS said 49-year-old Phillip Wade Carr, of Azle, was driving a Ford F250 pickup truck northbound on SH 199 while a F250 truck was traveling eastbound on FM 2210.

The eastbound vehicle disregarded a stop sign, failed to yield the right of way, and struck Carr’s vehicle.

Carr was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle, an 18-year-old Lexington woman, was taken to Faith Community Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
