Police Officer Struck by Vehicle on I-35 in San Antonio

Police Officer Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on I-35 at Loop 1604

San Antonio, Texas (September 18, 2020) – A Von Ormy Police officer was critically injured in a pedestrian accident Friday morning in San Antonio’s Far Southwest Side, deputies said.

The accident happened at about 3:00 a.m., on Interstate 35 South and Loop 1604.

Deputies said the officer was directing traffic due to a stalled semi-truck when a pickup truck hit her patrol car and then struck the officer who was standing beside the car.

The officer was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The pickup driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The crash closed Interstate 35 South.

The crash remains under investigation.
