Randall Lewis Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 80 in Big Spring

Randall Lewis Killed in Big Spring Scooter Accident on Highway 80

Big Spring, Texas (August 21, 2020) – The 61-year-old man who was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Big Spring has died, according to police.

The accident happened around 7:38 p.m., August 18, in the 3100 block of Highway 80.

Police said Randall Lewis was riding a motorized scooter when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

Lewis was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and later taken to UMC in Lubbock, where he later died.

The driver, Willie Gray, later went to the police department and told officers he had struck the pedestrian. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter.

The police are investigating the crash.
