Rebecca Burke ID’d as Woman Killed in Anderson County Two-Vehicle Crash on Texas Highway 19 (US-287) and County Road 181
Anderson County, Texas (January 25, 2019) – The woman who was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Anderson County has been identified as Rebecca Lynne Burke, 61, of Elkhart, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash occurred on Thursday, January 24, on Texas Highway 19 (US-287) and County Road 181.
DPS said Burke was driving southbound on Texas Highway 19 when for an unknown reason she traveled into the oncoming lane and hit a truck-tractor which was towing a semi-trailer of diesel.
Burke was declared dead at the scene.
The truck driver, Joe Salva, was airlifted to Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler where he was treated and released.  
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
