Richard Barrera Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on North MoPac Expressway near Windsor Road

Austin, Texas (May 28, 2022) – The driver who was killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way crash in Central Austin has been identified as 37-year-old Richard Barrera, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:40 a.m., May 23, in the 2500 block of North MoPac Expressway northbound, near Windsor Road.

Police said Barrera was driving the wrong way on the Mopac Expressway Toll Lane when he collided with another vehicle.

Barrera was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.
