Robert Moore Killed in San Antonio 18-Wheeler Crash on I-37 at Loop 1604

San Antonio, Texas (January 28, 2021) – The person who was killed in an 18-wheeler crash that left two other people injured on Friday in San Antonio has been identified as Robert Moore, 53, of San Antonio, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The fatal crash happened around 10:00 p.m., January 22, on Interstate 37.

Police said an 18-wheeler carrying molasses drifted to the right, struck a guardrail, and then crashed into a bridge abutment. It flew off the overpass onto Loop 1604 and landed in the center lane of eastbound Loop 1604, where the tractor and trailer separated.

A Dodge Caravan heading westbound on Loop 1604 was struck by either the truck or the trailer. The tractor went through a guardrail and came to rest on the embankment under the overpass, and burst into flames.

The 18-wheeler driver, Moore, was killed in the crash.

The two people in the Dodge were taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with minor injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
