Roel Solis Killed in Pharr Two-Vehicle Crash on Nolana Loop; Yosmara Garcia Arrested

Pharr, Texas (November 21, 2023) – One person was killed and another was arrested on Saturday following a two-vehicle crash in Pharr, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened on November 18, in the 700 block of W. Nolana Loop.

Officials said a Chevy Malibu exited the Monarch apartments, failed to yield the right of way, and struck a Ford Expedition which was traveling eastbound on Nolana.

The front passenger of the Malibu, 22-year-old Roel Solis, was killed in the crash.

The Malibu driver, 22-year-old Yosmara Garcia, was taken into custody, and arraigned on one count of intoxication manslaughter and one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon. She has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. Her bond was set at $105,000.

Two other occupants of the Malibu and the occupants of the Expedition reported no major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
