Roger Lee Beard Injured in Harrison County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 31 at FM 2625

Harrison County, Texas (October 9, 2020) – According to a local news source, one person was killed, and another was injured on Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Harrison County, four miles south of Marshall.

The fatal crash happened on October 2, at the intersection of FM 31 and FM 2625.

According to a preliminary investigation, Roger Lee Beard, 75, of Mt. Enterprise was driving a 2020 Chevrolet 2500 westbound on FM 2625 and stopped at the intersection. Steven Craig Braswell, 44, of Arp, was driving a 2007 International truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer southbound on FM 31.

Beard failed to yield the right of way and pulled out into the path of the truck-tractor, resulting in a collision.

The force of the impact caused the truck-tractor to jackknife into the southbound ditch, where it struck a light pole and caught fire.

Braswell was taken to LSU Medical Center in critical condition, where he died two days later.

Beard sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We wish Roger Lee Beard a quick recovery.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statues which were violated.
