Ronnie Dawson Lindsey Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Accident on E. Rundberg Lane near I-35

Austin, Texas (August 4, 2020) – The pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a car last month in North Austin has been identified as Ronnie Dawson Lindsey,72, according to police.

The accident happened around 9:45 a.m., on Friday, July 17, in the 800 block of E. Rundberg Lane, just east of Interstate 35.

Police said a white 2002 Hyundai Accent was traveling eastbound when it struck Lindsey, who was attempting to cross the street. Witnesses said Lindsey was attempting to cross the street from northbound to southbound.

Lindsey was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries just before 2:15 p.m. on July 24.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Impairment and speed were not factors in the crash.
