Rosa Ramirez Injured in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on Railroad Drive

El Paso, Texas (April 1, 2021) – According to police, one person was killed, and another was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in northeast El Paso.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m., March 28, in the 5700 block of Railroad Drive.

Police said Juan Estrada, 78, was driving a Honda Passport southbound in the right lane while Mario Escobedo, 69, was driving a Ford F250 in the left lane at a slow pace and was in the process of shutting down the left lane of traffic. Escobedo was a member of a construction crew in the area.

Estrada passed Escobedo, lost control, veered into the left lane, and crashed into the F250.

Estrada and his passenger, Rosa Ramirez, 61, were taken to University Medical Center, where Estrada later died. Ramirez had non-life-threatening injuries.

Escobedo was uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed the road for about six hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
