Sarah Dearmond ID’d as Woman Killed in Lubbock Crash at Slide Road and 13th Street
Lubbock, Texas (February 26, 2019) – The woman who was killed Sunday night in a traffic collision at an intersection in Lubbock has been identified as Sarah Dearmond, 19, according to police.
The fatal wreck took place just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at Slide Road and 13th Street.
Police said Anthony Puente, 20, was driving northbound on Slide Road when his pickup truck collided with a car that was heading westbound on 13th Street.
Dearmond, who was the front passenger of the car, was taken to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Another occupant in the car sustained major and was also taken to a hospital.
Puente, who was the sole occupant of the pickup truck, sustained minor injuries. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on charges of intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault and possession of marijuana.
LPD is investigating the accident.
