Saul Pina Killed in Ector County Car Crash on University Boulevard; Bryan Madsen Arrested

Ector County, Texas (December 5, 2019) – The civilian who was killed on Sunday evening in a T-bone crash involving a chase suspect in Ector County has been identified as Saul Pina, according to the deputies.

The crash occurred on Sunday, December 1, on University Boulevard at the Lowes parking lot.

Deputies said Bryan Madsen, 48, was in pursuit with the authorities in the 1900 block of Mockingbird. Madsen was traveling westbound on University when he T-boned Pina’s vehicle, which was pulling out of the Lowes parking lot.

Pina was taken to the Medical Center Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Madsen was arrested and taken into the custody of the US Marshalls. He has been charged with evading arrest, causing death and evading arrest, causing serious bodily injury.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
