Sonny Johnson Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35 in Fort Worth

Sonny Johnson ID’d as One of Pedestrians Killed in Fort Worth Crash on Interstate 35

Fort Worth, Texas (October 6, 2023) – One of the pedestrians who died after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning in Fort Worth has been identified as 47-year-old Sonny Johnson of Grand Prairie.

The deadly crash happened at about 9:20 a.m. Thursday, October 5, on Interstate 35.

Fort Worth Police said a driver ran out of gas and was waiting for a friend to bring him some on the median shoulder. Both the driver and his friend were outside the car when another vehicle attempted to avoid hitting a semi and swerved into the shoulder, hitting both of them.

One of the pedestrians, now identified as Johnson, died in the crash, while the other victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
