Talan Jowers ID’d as Victim In Fatal Crowley Crash on FM 1902

Crowley, Texas (October 12, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the person who died following a head-on collision on Tuesday afternoon near Crowley as Talan Jowers, 17, of Joshua.

The deadly crash happened at around 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, on FM 1902, 4 miles southwest of Crowley.

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2000 GMC Yukon was heading northbound on FM 1902 and passing vehicles in a no-passing zone when it collided head-on with a 2021 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound.

Jowers, who was a passenger in the Yukon, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Yukon, Demoshieo Brown, 17, of Joshua, was taken to Texas Health Harris Hospital, Fort Worth. Both were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The Explorer’s driver, Rolonda Hopkins, 48, of Joshua, was taken to Texas Health Harris Hospital, Fort Worth. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
