Tunde Obawunmi Killed, Olatunji Atere Seriously Injured in Eastland County Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 20

Eastland County, Texas (November 1, 2022) – A man was killed, and another man was injured on Friday in a pedestrian accident in Eastland County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened on October 28, on the Interstate 20 south access road at mile marker 326 near Cisco.

DPS said Tunde Mustaph Obawunmi, 46, of Little Elm, and Olatunji Alex Atere, 38, of San Angelo, were walking westbound on the southbound access road when they were struck by a westbound car driven by Larry James Bryant, 75, of Cisco.

Obawunmi was pronounced dead at the scene. Atere was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with serious injuries.

Bryant was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
