Tyler Duke Killed in Head-On Crash Involving Patrol Unit on U.S. 69 in Angelina County

Tyler Duke ID’d as Teenager Killed in Angelina County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 69

Angelina County, Texas (July 26, 2019) – The teenager who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Angelina County has been identified as Tyler Duke, 17, of Lufkin, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash occurred on Thursday, July 25, on U.S. 69, just north of Zavalla.

DPS said Duke attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone and crashed head-on into an Angelina County Sheriff’s Department patrol.

Duke was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passengers, Charity Lawson, 20, and Faith Lawson, 16, both of Orange, were taken to the hospital for treatment. A one-year-old girl in the back seat was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She was properly secured in a car seat.

The driver of the patrol car, Stacy Seymore, 51, of Wells, was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
