William Robert Alston ID’d as Worker Killed in New Braunfels Electrocution Accident at First Baptist Church
New Braunfels, Texas (April 20, 2019) – The worker who was killed Thursday morning in an electrocution accident in New Braunfels has been identified as William Robert Alston, 53, authorities reported.
The deadly accident happened just before 6:45 a.m. Thursday, April 18 at the First Baptist Church.
Authorities said Alston was employed as a contractor to clean the windows of the church. He was using a long pole at the time, which came in contact with nearby power lines.
The contact between the pole and the power lines sent an electric shock down the pole to Alston.
Alston was taken to Christus Santa Rosa, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
