Woman Hit, Killed on I-10 in Orange County

Woman Killed in Orange County Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10

Orange County, Texas (January 19, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident Monday night in Orange County, near the Texas-Louisiana state line, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 7:45 p.m., January 18, on Interstate 10 eastbound between Simmons Drive and the Sabine River.

DPS said the woman was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet pickup on the interstate. It appears that she was then struck by several other vehicles.

The woman was killed in the crash. Her name has not been released.

The Chevrolet driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The accident closed the eastbound lanes of I-10 near the Travel Information Center, and traffic was backed up for several miles.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
