Woman Killed in Car Crash on Gulf Freeway in Houston

73-Year-Old Woman Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (August 20, 2020) – A 73-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Houston, according to police.

The fatal crash happened at about 1:55 p.m., August 17, in the 17300 block of Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45).

Police said the woman was driving a black Hyundai Accent at a high rate of speed northbound on the I-45 service road when she rear-ended a northbound tractor-trailer truck.

The woman was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The truck driver was not impaired and remained at the scene.

The police are investigating the crash.
