Woman Killed in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 188 near Sinton

Corpus Christi, Texas (October 6, 2023) – A woman was killed on Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Corpus Christi, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 1:54 p.m., October 5, on Highway 188 near Sinton.

DPS said the woman was driving a Chevy Malibu when it hydroplaned, veered into oncoming traffic, and hit a truck.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The truck driver was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline for treatment.

DPS said that slick roads and low tread depths of at least two of the Chevy’s tires were factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
