Woman Killed in DWI Crash on Katy Freeway in Houston; Hunter Villasana Arrested

Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Katy Freeway; Hunter Villasana Arrested

Houston, Texas – A woman was killed on December 15 in a DWI crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 11:25 p.m., in the 7700 block of Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road near Silber Road.

Police said a black Mercedes GLK350 was traveling eastbound when it attempted to turn northbound onto Silber Road at an unsafe speed. It failed to stay in a single lane, struck a curb and a woman who was sleeping on the median before striking a wall.

The Mercedes driver, Hunter Cameron Villasana, 17, attempted to flee the scene but was detained by witnesses.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Villasana was arrested and subsequently charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The police are investigating the crash.
