Harris County, Texas (December 5, 2020) – A woman was killed, and her boyfriend was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Friday in northeast Harris County, according to deputies.

The accident happened around 6:50 p.m., on December 4, in the 8700 block of Krenek Road near Crosby Freeway.

Deputies said the couple was walking home from a nearby Walmart when they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver, an 87-year-old, left the scene and was found 2 miles away and seemed confused. He might suffer from dementia or some other medical impairment, according to authorities.

Both victims were airlifted to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center, where the woman, 28, later died. The man, 20, remains in critical condition.

The driver was also taken to the hospital for medical care.

An investigation is underway.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
