Driver Airlifted after Lufkin Crash at FM 2108 and U.S. 59 South
Lufkin, Texas (June 14, 2019) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Lufkin, according to a local news source.
The crash took place at about 4:00 p.m. June 13, at the intersection of FM 2108 and U.S. 59 south.
Authorities said the crash involved an 18-wheeler and a Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused the Chevrolet to flip over in the southbound lane with extensive damages to its rear. The bumper of the 18-wheeler was damaged, and it remained on the side of the roadway in the northbound lane.
The Chevrolet driver was airlifted to a Tyler hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the big rig was uninjured in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
