1 Killed in Car Crash on Southwest Freeway in Houston

One Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash at Southwest Freeway and Bissonnet

Houston, Texas (July 12, 2021) – One person was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in southwest Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 a.m., July 11, in the area of Southwest Freeway and Bissonnet.

Police said a car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver ran a red light and crashed into an SUV.

The force of the impact caused the car to crash into a concrete pillar under the freeway bridge.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
