1 Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290 near Manor

One Killed in Manor Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290 at FM 973

Manor, Texas (November 11, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning near Manor, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 1:40 a.m., at the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 973.

Police said a white four-door vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway when it was rear-ended by a Ford F-350.

A passenger in the four-door vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the four-door vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ford driver fled the scene on foot and was arrested by officers on charges of murder due to causing the death of another person while committing a felony – alleged to have been driving while intoxicated with two or more previous convictions, which is a 3rd-degree felony – and evading with previous convictions. He was booked into Travis County Jail.

The police are investigating the crash.
