2 Killed in Hit-and-Run on I-45 Gulf Freeway in Houston

Man and Woman Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run Scooter Crash on I-45 Gulf Freeway near Cullen

Houston, Texas (May 11, 2023) – Two people were killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just after midnight, on May 10, in the 4000 block of the Gulf Freeway near Cullen Boulevard.

Police said a 37-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were riding on a scooter heading southbound on the freeway when they were rear-ended by a maroon pickup truck which then fled the scene.

The victims were thrown off the scooter and left on the freeway, where they were then struck by other vehicles.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the other vehicles which struck the victims stayed at the scene and spoke to investigators.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information on the wanted pickup truck and the driver is urged to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
