2 Men Killed in Small Plane Crash on I-14 in Killeen

Two Men Killed in Killeen Small Plane Crash on Interstate 14 

Killeen, Texas (September 24, 2020) – Two men were killed Thursday morning in a small plane crash between Killeen and Harker Heights, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after 11:00 a.m., on Interstate 14 at Rosewood Drive, just south of the Skylark Airport runway, across the street from Seton Harker Heights Medical Center.

DPS said the ultralight aircraft had taken off from Skylark when it crashed into the median on the interstate.

Two men were taken to the hospital, where they later died. Their identities have not been released.

According to online records, the aircraft was first registered in 2007 and is owned by a Killeen man.

The crash closed the highway, and motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
