Three Injured in Montgomery County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1314 and Valley Ranch; Dan Huberty Arrested

Montgomery County, Texas (April 26, 2021) – Three people were injured and a Texas State Representative was arrested Friday night following a DUI crash in Montgomery County, according to the deputies.

The crash occurred around 9:00 p.m., April 23, at the intersection of FM 1314 and Valley Ranch.

Deputies said Dan Huberty, a Houston Republican who represents House District 127, was driving a Corvette when he failed to stop at a red light and crashed into an SUV.

The three people in the SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Huberty was uninjured in the crash. He was arrested and taken into custody. He has been charged with DWI.

An investigation is underway.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol however is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.
