One Driver, Six Children Injured in Lavon Crash on State Highway 78 near Lake Pointe

Lavon, Texas (March 16, 2023) – A driver and six children were injured after a school bus and an SUV collided on Thursday morning in Lavon, according to authorities.

The wreck occurred on State Highway 78 near the Lake Pointe neighborhood.

Authorities said the bus was turning southbound onto the highway when it was hit by the SUV. The bus belongs to the Community Independent School District.

Six children on the bus sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital. The SUV driver was also hospitalized in critical condition.

Part of the highway was blocked due to the crash.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
