Brody Wynn Killed, Chad Wynn Injured in Car Crash on US 59 in Panola County

Brody Wynn Killed, and Chad Wynn Injured in Panola County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 59 at FM 1749

Panola County, Texas (June 6, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Panola County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:17 p.m., June 3, at the intersection of US Highway 59 and FM 1749, near Carthage.

DPS said Igor Tkachuk was driving a 2023 Kenworth truck tractor towing a 2023 Wabash semi-trailer southbound on US 59 while Chad O. Wynn of DeBerry, Texas, was driving a 2012 Toyota Tundra towing a 2007 Tracker Marine boat and was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection.

Chad drove into the intersection, and the Toyota was struck by the truck on the passenger side.

The truck had the right of way.

Chad was taken to UT Health Hospital in Carthage with non-incapacitating injuries. The passenger, 16-year-old Brody W. Wynn of DeBerry, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tkachuk was uninjured in the crash.

All three were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
