41-Year-Old California Woman, 69-Year-Old Plano Woman Killed in Coppell Crash at West Bethel Road and South Freeport Parkway; Selvin Cuyuch Arrested

Coppell, Texas (January 5, 2023) – Two people were killed and three other people were hospitalized after a Thursday night crash at an intersection in Coppell, according to the Coppell Police Department.

The crash happened at around 7:00 p.m. Thursday, 29 at the intersection of West Bethel Road and South Freeport Parkway.

Coppell police said Selvin Cuyuch, 20, of Dallas, was driving a maroon Honda Accord northbound on Freeport Parkway when he allegedly ran a red light and struck a silver BMW sedan that was traveling eastbound on Bethel Road.

Two occupants in the silver BMW, a 41-year-old woman from California and a 69-year-old woman from Plano, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people in the silver BMW were transported to a hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities said Cuyuch was fleeing from another accident on I-635 that happened shortly before this. He was arrested and charged with two counts of manslaughter.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
