Dianne Williams Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on FM 779 in Grand Saline

Dianne Williams among 2 Victims in Fatal Grand Saline Crash on Farm to Market Road 779 near Quitman

Grand Saline, Texas (April 2, 2023) – Dianne Williams, 69, of Quitman, was among two people who were killed in a Sunday evening multi-vehicle crash in Grand Saline.

The crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, March 26, on Farm to Market Road 779 at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, approximately four miles outside Quitman.

Williams was driving his vehicle eastbound on FM 779, while Micayla Kolb, 17, was driving westbound on FM 779.

For an unknown reason, Kolb allowed his vehicle to drift into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with Williams’s vehicle.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. Kolb, who was a senior student at Grand Saline High School, was taken to UT Health Hospital in Quitman, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

DPS is investigating the crash.
