Dylan Garza and Man Injured in Car Crash on I-27 in Amarillo

Dylan Garza Among Two Injured in Amarillo Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 27

Amarillo, Texas (December 23, 2019) – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Amarillo, according to a local news release.

The crash occurred on Sunday, December 22, in the 3400 block of south I-27.

As per the report, officers were directing traffic at a crash on the highway. Dylan Garza, 20, was driving southbound when he lost control of his car and rear-ended one of the police vehicles. Garza then hit a second police vehicle, which caused it to hit a third police SUV.

Garza and his passenger, a 20-year-old man, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

None of the officers were injured in the crash.

Investigators said speed and alcohol were possible factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
