George Grant Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Burnet Road in North Austin

George Grant Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Accident on Burnet Road

Austin, Texas (October 17, 2020) – The pedestrian who was killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash in North Austin has been identified as 52-year-old George Grant, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 2:00 a.m., October 10, in the 9200 block of Burnet Road.

Police said Grant was walking northbound in the inside lane of the roadway when he was struck by a northbound black 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Grant was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Ford driver fled the scene. The front panel of the truck is likely to have damage around the driver’s side.

The police are still looking for the driver.

The APD’s vehicular homicide unit is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-6935.
