Grover Colmon, Ronald Waters Injured in 2-Truck Accident on Highway 59 in San Jacinto County

Grover Colmon and Ronald Waters Hospitalized after San Jacinto County Truck Crash on U.S. Highway 59 near 453A Off-Ramp

San Jacinto County, Texas (December 27, 2022) – Two people were hospitalized after a collision involving two commercial motor vehicles in San Jacinto County Friday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers.

The crash happened at about 6:40 a.m. Friday, December 23 on U.S. Highway 59 near the 453A exit.

Authorities said 41-year-old Ronald Waters of Ringgold was driving a 2023 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer on U.S. Highway 59 southbound when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a 2020 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer, driven by 43-year-old Grover Colmon of Shreveport, La.

Colmon was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment while Waters was taken to HCA-Cleveland for treatment.

Waters was charged for failing to control speed.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
