James Roden Killed in Comanche County Motorcycle Crash on FM 1496 near DeLeon

Comanche County, Texas – A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a crash in Comanche County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 9:30 p.m., March 13, on FM 1496 east of DeLeon.

DPS said James Roden of DeLeon, Texas, was riding a motorcycle northbound when he failed to maintain a single lane and crossed into the path of an approaching 18-wheeler.

The 18-wheeler driver tried to take evasive action, but Roden struck the side of his trailer.

Roden was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
