Jorge Marin Killed in Pecos County Semi-Truck Crash on FM 1053

Pecos County, Texas (December 3, 2022) – A man was killed Thursday afternoon in a semi-truck crash in Pecos County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m., December 1, on FM 1053.

DPS said Jorge Marin, 45, of El Paso, was driving a semi-truck southbound while another semi-truck was traveling northbound.

For unknown reasons, Marin began driving southbound in the northbound lanes and struck the other semi-truck.

Marin’s vehicle caught fire after the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
