Haskell County, Texas (November 28, 2020) – Three people were killed, and a 9-year-old was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Haskell County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 11:00 a.m., on November 24, on US 277 at Business 277.

DPS said Michael Bowman, 55, of Goree, was driving a 2013 Ford pickup when he failed to yield the right of way when turning from US 277 onto Business 277 and hit a Mazda MA 5 which was heading southbound on US 277.

The Mazda left the roadway after the collision and caught fire.

The Mazda driver, Jose Minan, 48, and his passenger, Sara Minan, 44, both of Austin, were killed in the crash. A 9-year-old boy in their car was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene where he was treated and released.

Troopers said Bowman is believed to have taken his own life after the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jose Minan and Sara Minan.
