Kenneth Woosley Injured after Car Collides with Big Rig on Highway 87 in Newton County

Kenneth Woosley Hospitalized after Newton County Crash on Highway 87

Newton County, Texas (June 29, 2022) – A Newton man was injured in a collision between a car and an 18-wheeler late Tuesday morning in Newton County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, on Highway 87 in the Trout Creek Community.

DPS said William Nelson, 59, of Orange, was driving a 2020 Peterbilt truck northbound on Highway 87 when he slowed to make a turn. A 2011 Kia passenger car failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the trailer being pulled by the truck.

Woosley was taken to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont in unknown condition.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
