Man Injured in West Houston Pedestrian Accident near Hillcroft Avenue and Sands Point Drive

Houston, Texas (March 5, 2019) – A man was injured when he was struck by a Houston Police Department vehicle at a strip mall in west Houston early Tuesday morning.
According to the authorities, the crash happened at about 2 a.m. near Hillcroft Avenue and Sands Point Drive.
The report indicates that the officers were trying to stop another driver in the parking lot when the driver maneuvered around them and fled. As the officer backed up to catch the suspect, the police vehicle hit a man who was running through the parking lot.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
It’s unclear whether the suspect was arrested.
