The pickup driver was taken into custody. Officers said he might have been intoxicated. If found to be intoxicated, he could face intoxication manslaughter charges.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
