Harris County, Texas – One person was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Harris County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 2:50 a.m., April 13, in the 11600 block of State Highway 249.

Authorities said Marcus Harper was driving a blue Chrysler 200 westbound on the highway when he veered out of his lane on a divided highway.

Omar Quintos Garcia was driving a 2000 Volvo truck tractor with a 2001 Great Dane trailer heading eastbound on the highway with a truck-mounted forklift.

Harper was heading westbound in the eastbound lane when he hit the left side of Garcia’s trailer, causing the forklift’s dislodgement from the truck.

Harper was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
