Michael McIntyre Killed in Arlington Motorcycle Crash on West Park Row Drive

Arlington, Texas (August 25, 2020) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning in Arlington, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 3:45 a.m., August 20, in the 200 block of West Park Row Drive.

Police said Michael McIntyre, 34, of Fort Worth, was riding a motorcycle that was being towed by an unknown vehicle heading westbound.

McIntyre lost control of the motorcycle and veered into the inside eastbound lane, where he crashed into an oncoming passenger car.

The vehicle that was towing the motorcycle fled the scene. The motorcycle’s tow straps became loose, and it was found lying in the road a short distance away.

McIntyre was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger car driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Officials are looking for the driver of the tow vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Crash Investigator Dane Ritcheson at 817-575-8601, or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Michael McIntyre.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases the accident results in death.
