Mohammed Yasin Arrested Following Crash That Killed One on Fry Road in Harris County

17-Year-Old Mohammed Yasin Arrested after Harris County Crash on Fry Road

Harris County, Texas (May 3, 2022) – Mohammed Yasin, 17, was arrested following a car crash that left one person dead Monday night in Harris County, authorities said.

The deadly crash involving three vehicles occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, in the 1800 block of Fry Road.

According to the authorities, a man was exiting a private driveway from a McDonald’s parking lot and was trying to make a left turn onto Fry Road when his Honda Odyssey was hit by a silver Hyundai Sonata that was being driven southbound at a high rate of speed by Yasin.

After the impact, the Honda spun several times and traveled across all three lanes of traffic. It then entered northbound lanes, where it was struck by a blue Dodge Challenger traveling in the third lane.

The man was trapped inside his vehicle and was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Three teens, who were in the Hyundai, were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Yasin was later arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for driving while intoxicated.

No further details about the crash were immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
