Monica Gallegos Killed in Car Crash on I-30 in Dallas

28-Year-Old Monica Gallegos Killed in Dallas Two-Vehicle Crash on I-30 near South Westmoreland Road

Dallas, Texas (April 20, 2020) – Two women were killed, and a 5-year-old girl was injured Saturday night in a car crash in west Dallas, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. April 18, on westbound I-30 near South Westmoreland Road.

Deputies said 28-year-old Monica Gallegos and 54-year-old Carolina Hernandez were leaving the area after helping a family member who was having mechanical issues with their vehicle. They were reversing into the right lane of the freeway when their PT Cruiser was hit by a Ford F-150.

Both Gallegos and Hernandez had to be extricated and were rushed to the hospital, where they later died.

A 5-year-old girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Dallas in stable condition.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
