Roy Gonyea Killed in Motorcycle Accident on FM 560 in Hooks

Roy Gonyea ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Hooks Crash on FM 560 near Hooks Junior High School

Hooks, Texas (February 22, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died in a traffic accident late Tuesday afternoon in Hooks as 50-year-old Roy Gonyea.

The deadly crash took place noon Tuesday, February 21 in front of Hooks Junior High School. The school is located on FM 560.

DPS said Gonyea was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle southbound when he hit the back right of a school bus that was heading northbound on FM 560 and was turning into a school parking lot.

The motorcycle continued and hit a third vehicle, a 2014 Ford F-350 pickup truck.

Gonyea was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
