Sara Cruz Killed, Jose Juan Perez and Jaime Gutierrez Injured in NW Laredo Two-Vehicle Crash at Texas 255 and FM 1472

Laredo, Texas (October 10, 2020) – A woman was killed, and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday in northwest Laredo, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on Thursday, October 8, at the intersection of Texas 255 and FM 1472.

Police said Jose Juan Perez, 50, of Houston, was driving a 2014 Ford F-150 when he disregarded a stop sign and crashed into a 2018 Ford Raptor driven by Jaime Gutierrez, 27.

Sara Cruz, 47, of Houston, who was a passenger in the Ford F-150, was taken to Doctors Hospital with severe injuries where she later died.

Perez was also taken to Doctors in serious condition.

Gutierrez was taken to Laredo Medical Center in stable condition.

Officers said alcohol was an unlikely factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
