Several Hospitalized after Smith County Crash on Highway 31 near FM 2908

Smith County, Texas (August 7, 2019) – Several people were injured Monday in a traffic accident in Smith County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened on Highway 31 east near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 2908 Monday, August 5.

The DPS said several vehicles collided for an unknown reason on the roadway. The force of the impact sent a black sedan off the road, where it came to rest along the tree line.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the parties involved. The patients were then taken to a hospital. Their names and condition at this time were not immediately disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
