Shelby Mackenzie Hit, Seriously Injured by Car in San Antonio

Shelby Mackenzie Seriously Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident 

San Antonio, Texas (May 6, 2022) – A mother who was taking her trash out was struck and seriously injured by a car on April 14 in San Antonio, according to a local news source.

The accident happened around 7:58 a.m., near the woman’s driveway.

According to the report, Shelby Mackenzie was rolling her trashcan down to the curb when a car jumped the curb and hit her. The impact threw her 15-20 feet through the air, where she landed on the sidewalk on her head. She was taken to BAMC Intensive Care Unit with serious injuries, including two skull fractures, three subdural hematomas, a dissection of her internal carotid artery, and a complete rupture of all of the ligaments of her right knee.

A GoFundMe has been created to help with Shelby’s medical expenses.

No other details were available.

An investigation is underway.
