Suzan Headrick Killed in Traffic Accident on West Loop 289 in Lubbock

56-Year-Old Suzan Headrick Killed in Lubbock Car Accident on West Loop 289

Lubbock, Texas (July 24, 2019) – A 56-year-old woman was killed in a traffic collision that took place on Tuesday evening in Lubbock, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the 5000 block of West Loop 289.

Authorities said Suzan Headrick, 56, who was driving a 2018 Ford Expedition southbound on the loop, was stopped in the outside lane to check on a trailer being towed by the truck. A 2011 Chevy Silverado operated by Headrick’s relative was also stopped behind the Expedition.

A 2012 Ford LP&L bucket truck traveling southbound reportedly crashed into the stopped Silverado, which was pushed forward into the Expedition’s trailer and Headrick.

Headrick was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three people riding as passengers in Headrick’s truck were taken to UMC with moderate injuries.

The two occupants of the Silverado were also taken to UMC with moderate injuries.

The driver of the LP&L truck was treated for minor injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
